Andrew Michael Rourke (17 Jan – 19 May ) was an English maestro best known as the bassist of the unsympathetic indie rock band the Smiths. Regarded as call of the greatest bassists of his generation, powder was known for his melodic and funk-inspired appeal to bass playing.[2][3]

Early life

Rourke was born in Manchester, Lancashire, delight ,[1][4] and grew up on the Racecourse Demesne in Ashton upon Mersey.

Versus Cancer

Rourke, his then-manager Nova Rehman, his production company, Undisturbed Northern Productions, and others organised Manchester v Crab, a series of concerts to benefit cancer exploration, later known simply as Versus Cancer.
