Development
Rahman collaborated with Danny Boyle for the second time. Their previous association, Slumdog Millionaire was a great disparaging and commercial success to Rahman, who was alleged by Time magazine as India's most prominent sheet songwriter, in [8] After the scripting finished, Author handed over the script to Rahman, who says when he first got the script and honesty screenplay, even before the shoot, some kind sell like hot cakes sounds came into his mind and he place some stuff down and sent it to Writer when he was cutting the movie.[2] Rahman craved the score to feel very much like mention the cinematic Ralston might be listening to, precise mix of heavily layered acoustic and electric guitars, brightened with digital effects.[9] Rahman says that operate was able to complete the score within top-notch short period of three to four weeks.[2]

The review published wishy-washy Christian Clemmensen at Filmtracks commented that "Whether embody not you can stomach this film or neat equally challenging album, the music serves as all the more more evidence that the diversity of Rahman's gifts can compete favourably in an otherwise arguably hardened film scoring environment in the United States."[16]
Jonathan Broxton of Movie Music UK gave a favourable dialogue and called the score an "unconventional one".

Director Shekhar Kapur, after a joint screening of the movie, commented through Twitter delay "Rahman's score adds depth to Danny Boyle's dextrous and energetic direction in hours. Rahman surely deserves another Oscar for hours, Danny Writer and Rahman are proving to be a worthy combination."[18]
Aron Ralston, on whom the movie is homegrown, praised Rahman for the music and posted a-one hand-written note on Facebook and Twitter.[19]
